Some people are obviously too stupid to read.
Despite the warning, some one took the time to log in and write a spam post.
It only takes seconds to "kill" spammers so I don't know why they bother.

I think: 'Welcome>Spammers' may be being misinterpreted!

Seems some people can't read.
Just deleted another spammer.
I really enjoy pressing the "delete" button especially when I have the "delete all their posts" tick in there as well.
Under 30 seconds and another spammer disappears in to the ether.
Wish I had this option in real life some times.

The spam posts are really annoying now :|

Couldn't membership be manually validated? Could those admin rights be delegated to Teiana (I believe she has mod rights for dealing with spammers)? My fear is that the accumulation of spam posts will just turn off potential members from joining.

What annoyed me about the spam posts yesterday is that one of them quoted a paragraph from a post I made about a year ago. I feel that the only reason the paragraph was quoted is to make it appear that it was a genuine post. What are they trying to achieve.

I think that happens all the time, they paste in something from another post so it looks vaguely legit at first glance.

I think it's as Teiana says - to make their posts look legit. 'Jennifer' posted something about gardening, which slightly made sense and on-topic on first reading. It certainly didn't stick out like one of those "yes, I agree!" posts.

I just sent neill a pm to see if he is still around hoping he can pop in and we can plan a better way to keep spam out. See there's so little use of the forum, it's not worthwhile for someone to come in every day just for the purpose of deleting any spam just to leave it tidy for the spammers...... we really need to be posting more than the spammers are to make tidying up have any point... but, if there's no tidying, there comes a time when it puts people off posting...
