A busy life

For anything that is not really to do with Systems - or at least so off topic as not to fit anywhere else.

A busy life

A funny story.

Long ago (it feels that way) we had to do project for T306 and I chose to reorganize a local Internet provider.
The project was a success and led to a consulting contract with the company. Part of the deal was that they agreed to host the Systems Place for free :-)

A few years later and the company is really "taking off" - it grew by 70% this year!
Success is great but it means that things do not get simpler.
So this week I handed in my notice at my current employer and on 1st April I will be the new managing director of the company.

Amazing the effect that systems is having on my life.
:-)

That's incredible new Neill - congratulations!

I am hoping to push for promotions/more interesting roles from doing T306 but Managing Director is a bit of a reach in my current company (an 80,000 employee mega corporation). Maybe in a few years...

Hope it's all a big success and the project planning aspects of the course have been useful :)

Regards

... but Managing Director is a bit of a reach ...

The trick is to start small. That is why I am starting with an 11 person (4 women, 7 man) company

First day in my new job! Although the first day in the office is tomorrow.
I am so glad I did systems courses :-)

And in the Rupununi things are ticking along nicely.

And the sun is shining for another bike ride http://neill.blogger.de
