diagramming section

Where "we contemplate our own navels" to decide how this forum should evolve. What features do we need? Who decides what we need?

i just selected 'freehand' at the top and then started drawing...

<sheepish look>

i MIGHT possibly maybe have got a teensy weensy little bit carried away mind, in all the excitement...

Possibly?
Yes!

But it is a great tool for drawing and sharing, which was what Andrea asked for.

I'm not sure whether the image coding is working? This is what it says within the FAQ pages:
Can I post images?
Yes, images can be shown in your posts. If the administrator has allowed attachments, you may be able to upload the image to the board. Otherwise, you must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g. http://www.example.com/my-picture.gif. You cannot link to pictures stored on your own PC (unless it is a publicly accessible server) nor images stored behind authentication mechanisms, e.g. hotmail or yahoo mailboxes, password protected sites, etc. To display the image use the BBCode [img] tag.

for example, this is the URL for the site logo: styles/prosilver/imageset/site_logo.gif
if I paste the URL within the image code:
Image
it works, but if I paste the URL for the diagram:
Image
all we get is a broken image. I guess it has to have a.gif.jpeg.PNG ending? So some sort of "mirror site" needs to be available in whatever online diagramming to one uses that automatically "renders" the diagram into such a format....

Hi Andrea. You wrote

Exactly which URL did you post?
Add it is "code" tags so that I can read it. Thanks!

OK! Thanks!
I see two problems here.
Obviously the beginning of the link http:// is missing
and the bit in the middle has ... which is also wrong.
Andrea: can you try again?
Thanks

The problem is that the IMG code will only accept URLs that link directly to pictures i.e. a URL ending with a PNG/JPEG/TIFF etc. The problem is therefore not with the IMG code itself, but with the online diagramming tool which does not provide a suitable URL. E.g.
Code: Select all
http://www.dabbleboard.com/draw?b=Neill&i=0&c=e07a4856dde4ebe676c3bf8d6b7505d9d954d1be

However, I saw that one can copy some HTML coding which will allow you to embed the diagram within any website:
<iframe width="640" height="480" style="border:none" src=
"http://www.dabbleboard.com/iframe?&drawing_user_id=Neill&drawing_id=0&drawing_key=e07a4856dde4ebe676c3bf8d6b7505d9d954d1be&width=640&height=480&hide_lib_pane=yes">
</iframe>

is there any possibility of accessing the HTML version of any posting?

Hi Andrea!
Thank you for the clarification.
I will put my thinking hat back on and try to think of a really clever solution using dynamic php or something.
But probably not while we have 1/2 a meter of new snow :-)
