TMA Companion Documents

Postby petrus on Tue Aug 10, 2010 4:00 pm

Hi all!

I am thinking of applying for the 2011 T214 course and was wondering whether any of you have a couple of TMA companion documents they could send me just to see what type of questions were asked. Not worked TMAs but the document only.

Thanks
Pierre

If you can get to a regional centre they should have all course materials available to look at. (You could check before going).

This course was a bit unusual in that it was mainly delivered online, consequently I don't have a TMA document as such.

However, if you follow this link you'll find the 2007 presentation material and related TMAs:

As I understand it, it's been a bit modified in the subsequent years, but this should give you a flavour.

Hi Pierre!
I would not look at the TMA questions. I never looked at any T214 TMA questions at the start of the block and felt that I knew what they were after. Often I wrote the TMA with the same feeling. I think that the TMAs will just frighten you away.
Have fun

Hi Neill

Thanks for the post. To be honest I did have a look at a couple of TMAs and yes they did frighten me.
There is so much to write and so many TMAs. I now am working on my ECA of T215. After that is over I will be in a better mood to decide as to whether to enrol for T214. I hope

Cheers

OK Pierre!
Once you get in to the serious decision bit, come back and ask a few more questions.

What was on this molly.open.ac.uk server and where did it all get moved to? I've seen a few links to it in discussions and other places, but none of them work.

The 'Molly' server contained John Naughton's musings as he was writing T214's block 1 - there wasn't a lot there, so you're not missing much.
